Armin Strom pays tribute to hometown with Tribute 1 Sandstein

Armin Storm

Armin Strom introduces the Tribute 1 Sandstein, inspired by the sandstone of Burgdorf and combining classical details with modern haute horlogerie.

The Tribute 1 line has been expanded with the Sandstein edition, drawing directly on the brand’s Swiss roots. The design takes inspiration from the sandstone architecture of Burgdorf, Armin Strom’s hometown in the canton of Bern.

Classic proportions and modern finishing

The Tribute 1 Sandstein comes in a 38 mm stainless steel case, only 9.38 mm thick, with a lug-to-lug length of 44.35 mm. These slim proportions make it perfectly suited as a modern dress watch. The case combines polished and brushed surfaces and offers water resistance to 50 meters.

The watch is powered by Armin Strom’s in-house caliber AMW21, a manually wound movement with an impressive 100-hour power reserve. On the dial side, the signature white gold barrel is visible beneath a mirror-polished bridge. Through the sapphire caseback, Geneva stripes, anglage, and black-polished screws highlight the brand’s traditional finishing.

Sandstone as a design detail

The dial features a warm sandstone hue reminiscent of Burgdorf’s architecture, including the town’s historic castle. The center is decorated with barleycorn guilloché, framed by a frosted surface and Roman numerals on the outer ring. Six visible screws, skeletonized hands, and a jewel set into the barrel bridge provide further refinement.

The strap is crafted in sand-colored Alcantara with contrasting stitching, reinforcing the theme while offering an understated, elegant look.

Limited to 50 pieces

The Tribute 1 Sandstein is limited to just 50 pieces and priced at CHF 22,000. For collectors, it represents a rare meeting of local heritage and modern haute horlogerie.

With the Tribute 1 Sandstein, Armin Strom shows that even a simple time-only watch can tell a bigger story – when materials, design, and craftsmanship converge in a limited creation.
