Bovet solves the time zone problem with a new world time watch
Bovet introduces the Récital 30, a mechanical world time watch that tackles the challenges of daylight saving and global time zones in an entirely new way.
The new model builds on the award-winning Récital 28 and can be adjusted to four different time periods of the year.
The Récital 30 focuses on precision and functionality, featuring 26 rollers that control 24 time zones. The system easily switches between UTC, American Summer Time, European Summer Time and European Winter Time, ensuring accurate timekeeping all year round regardless of local daylight saving changes.
Bovet highlights that traditional world time watches have typically been off by one hour during daylight saving periods. With the Récital 30, that issue is eliminated, and all world time zones – including New Delhi with its 30-minute offset – are displayed accurately throughout the year.
Récital 30 adjustable to four time periods
The watch uses a special roller mechanism controlled by two pushers on the case. The upper pusher rotates the rollers in 90-degree increments, while the lower pusher advances the central 24-hour dial by one hour per press.
This system allows precise adjustment across four global time periods. Bovet’s owner, Pascal Raffy, explains that the work on solving the daylight saving challenge began six years ago and required both technical innovation and artisanal expertise.
Two versions and extensive customization
The Récital 30 comes in two versions – a universal model and a special edition designed for collectors in India, where the 30-minute time offset is displayed with color-matched hands. The watch is available in titanium and 18K red gold.
Bovet also offers extensive personalization options. Owners can change city names, select different colors for the 24-hour track, and even convert the watch between the universal and Indian versions.
Production of the Récital 30 is limited to 30 pieces in 2025. All titanium models are made entirely in-house at Bovet’s own facility in Tramelan, Switzerland, where the brand now also manufactures its own cases.
The watch marks a new chapter for Bovet, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to innovation in high watchmaking.
