Earthen launches ceramic watches under $900

Earthen

Earthen Company debuts with the Summit Collection, three models with ceramic cases priced at $899, combining vintage inspiration with modern materials.

The young brand Earthen Company has set itself an ambitious goal: to make ceramic watches accessible to a wider audience. With its first collection, the Summit Collection, three models are introduced – each inspired by the world of skiing.

Three mountain-inspired versions

The collection consists of the Overcast, Whiteout, and Blue Bird. All feature ceramic cases with 100 metres of water resistance, while the caseback and crown are made of steel. The oversized crown ensures easy operation even with ski gloves.

Overcast is the most understated version, with a black case, black dial, and vintage-style Super-LumiNova. Whiteout stands out with a white case that almost resembles marble, while Blue Bird features a fully luminescent dial and a blue ring around the sapphire crystal – a detail that makes it particularly striking in the dark.

Classic proportions and finishing

The Summit models measure 38 mm in diameter and 9.9 mm in thickness – a size that balances vintage character with modern wearability. The cases feature both brushed and polished surfaces, giving them a visual depth usually seen in more expensive watches.

Inside beats the automatic Miyota 9039 calibre with a 42-hour power reserve. Each watch comes standard with two straps: a sailcloth-style rubber strap and a nylon NATO strap, both suited for outdoor use.

Accessible ceramic watches

According to co-founder Johnathan Chan, the mission is to democratise ceramic watches. “We wanted to create the ultimate ski watch – one that’s water-resistant, legible, and built to last,” says Chan.

With a price of $899 Earthen enters a price segment where ceramic cases are rarely found. Each version is initially limited to 100 pieces but will be restocked once sold out.

Earthen Company’s first step onto the market demonstrates that ceramic no longer needs to be reserved for luxury brands. The Summit Collection offers collectors a rare opportunity to own a ceramic watch at a fraction of the usual price.
