Grand Seiko unveils Sunrise Tentagraph and Moonlit Birch
Grand Seiko expands the Evolution 9 series with two striking novelties, combining titanium, rose gold, and nature-inspired dials that will appeal to serious collectors.
Grand Seiko continues to grow its Evolution 9 collection with two new standout pieces: the Sunrise Tentagraph SLGC006 and the Moonlit Birch SLGW007. Both are based on existing successes in the line but introduce design details that give them an entirely new identity.
Sunrise Tentagraph in titanium and rose gold
The Tentagraph SLGC006 stands out as the more extravagant of the two. The 43.2 mm case is crafted from Grand Seiko’s high-intensity titanium and paired with 18K rose gold on the bezel, crown, and pushers. A black ceramic insert with a tachymeter scale adds a strong sport-oriented look.
The dial is inspired by the morning sunlight hitting Mt. Iwate. Its copper-pink tone is paired with burgundy chronograph sub-dials and rose-gold-plated markers. Inside beats the 9SC5 caliber, an automatic chronograph movement with a frequency of 36,000 vph, 72 hours of power reserve, and the brand’s advanced Dual Impulse Escapement. Limited to 300 pieces, the model is priced at €23,000.
Moonlit Birch with textured blue dial
The SLGW007 builds on last year’s hand-wound Evolution 9 “Birch” models. This time, the textured dial is rendered in a deep midnight blue, evoking birch forests under moonlight. The stainless-steel case measures 38.6 mm across and just 9.95 mm thick, making it a refined daily option.
The watch is powered by the 9SA4 caliber, a hand-wound Hi-Beat movement with a frequency of 36,000 vph, an 80-hour power reserve, and a sapphire caseback revealing the movement’s power reserve indicator. Unlike the Tentagraph, this model is not limited. It will retail for €10,200.
