Omega updates the Dark Side of the Moon with four new Speedmasters
Four new versions mark the next chapter in Omega’s iconic Moonwatch – where classic design meets modern engineering and ceramic perfection.
Omega continues to evolve its legendary Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon with four new models for 2025. Twelve years after the original launch, the Swiss brand refines its ceramic Moonwatch with new colorways, enhanced craftsmanship, and updated movements.
Although many enthusiasts hoped for a smaller case, Omega keeps the iconic 44.25 mm size. Instead, attention has been given to proportions, details, and materials that highlight the Speedmaster’s technical precision and signature dark character.

Four interpretations of the moon
Among the novelties is the Dark Side of the Moon 9900 Automatic, featuring a black ceramic case with white accents. It’s powered by the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer 9900 – an automatic movement with 60 hours of power reserve and METAS certification. Buyers can choose between a rubber or textile strap, both equipped with a foldover clasp in ceramised titanium.
The Grey Side of the Moon brings a more experimental tone. Inspired by astronaut Jim Lovell’s quote “The Moon is essentially grey,” it features a skeletonized dial with laser-engraved textures that mimic the lunar surface. The hand-wound calibre 3869, also used in the previous Apollo 8 models, powers this striking watch.

Black, blacker – and a hint of red
Omega expands the series with two darker variations. The Black Black model blends case, dial, and markers into a fully monochrome look powered by the automatic calibre 9900. For those seeking a bold detail, the Black Red adds subtle red accents to the dial and seconds hand. It houses the manual calibre 9908 with a 60-hour power reserve, combining sporty flair with Omega’s timeless precision.

A modern evolution of the Moonwatch
With the 2025 Dark Side of the Moon collection, Omega proves that innovation and heritage can coexist. Crafted from advanced ceramics, laser-engraved details, and METAS-certified movements, the new Speedmasters embody modern watchmaking excellence.
All models measure 44.25 mm, feature sapphire crystal front and back, 50 meters of water resistance, and prices range between $15,700 and $16,400 depending on configuration.
