Oris plays with nature’s colors in collaboration with Cervo Volante
The Oris × Cervo Volante Big Crown Pointer Date unites Swiss watchmaking tradition and sustainability in a tribute to history and craftsmanship.
As autumn arrives and colors shift from golden hues to deep reds, Oris follows nature’s lead with a watch that captures the warmth of the season. In collaboration with Cervo Volante, the Swiss watchmaker introduces a new version of its iconic Big Crown Pointer Date, where sustainable materials and timeless design meet in perfect harmony.
A classic with aviation roots
The Big Crown Pointer Date was first introduced in 1938 as a durable pilot’s watch. Its oversized crown made it easy to operate while wearing gloves, and the date pointer – a central hand indicating the date around the dial – added both practicality and charm. Over 80 years later, the model remains one of Oris’s strongest symbols of independence and mechanical excellence.

A watch inspired by forests and sunsets
The new Oris × Cervo Volante Big Crown Pointer Date captures the atmosphere of a Northern European autumn. The dial transitions from bright orange in the center to deep red at the edges. A subtle green-tipped date hand nods to the sustainably sourced deer leather used for the strap.
Leather with a conscience
The collaboration with Cervo Volante is rooted in shared values of sustainability. The leather is made from Swiss deer hides, harvested through responsible wildlife management and tanned without harmful chemicals. Each piece is crafted by hand to preserve its natural grain, resulting in a strap that combines comfort, character, and beautiful aging over time.
Human-scale mechanics
Inside beats the Oris Calibre 754, a modified Sellita SW200-1 with the signature pointer date function. The automatic movement offers a 41-hour power reserve and is known for its reliability and easy servicing. The 40 mm stainless steel case features Oris’s signature coin-edge bezel and a double-domed sapphire crystal, while its 50-meter water resistance makes it ideal for daily wear.
Oris’s most iconic watch
While the Big Crown Pointer Date represents Oris’s heritage, the Oris Aquis has become the brand’s most famous model. Introduced in 2011, the diver’s watch symbolizes modern Swiss precision and rugged craftsmanship. Together, they illustrate the brand’s design range – from the skies to the depths.

Price and availability
The Oris × Cervo Volante Big Crown Pointer Date comes in a travel pouch crafted from Cervo Volante’s deer leather. The watch retails for approximately £1,800 / $2,300 and is available now through authorized retailers.
A timepiece for those who value mechanical meaning – where tradition, nature, and modern consciousness meet on the wrist.
