Parchie Lunar Time for Hodinkee is the newest release created by Parchie and Cara Barrett. The watches launch in two sizes, 32 mm and 36 mm, and follow a space theme inspired by well-known watches developed for real missions. Hodinkee describes the project as a continuation of its partnership with Cara Barrett.
Parchie was founded by Barrett after several years as an editor at Hodinkee. The brand focuses on colorful, educational watches that help both children and adults learn to tell time in a playful way. Parchie Lunar Time expands the universe with a pair of watches designed to be worn by a child and an adult together.
The design of Parchie Lunar Time for Hodinkee features a red metallic aluminum case. The color references an iconic watch associated with space travel. The bezel carries white numerals, and the cream-colored dial has black markings and a red seconds hand matching the case.
Space-Inspired Parchie Lunar Time in 32 and 36 mm
Both sizes come with an oversized crown to make time-setting easier for smaller hands. A Japanese quartz movement powers the watch to ensure accuracy. The dial also includes a small Hodinkee logo at six o’clock, marking the collaboration without distracting from the simple time display.
The two-tone strap in white and grey is made from nylon, PLC and velcro. It adjusts from 25 mm to 36 mm, allowing it to fit over a jacket as well. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters, making the watch suitable for daily wear and play.
Parchie Lunar Time is delivered in Parchie’s signature round box, featuring subtle space-themed details. Hodinkee describes the release as a celebration of curiosity and play, appealing to both younger and older users.
Pricing for Parchie Lunar Time from Hodinkee
The price is listed at 75 dollars for the 32 mm version and 85 dollars for the 36 mm version, equal to approximately 520 kr. and 590 kr. A total of 500 pieces will be produced in each size, with sales handled directly through Hodinkee.
“We wanted to create a watch that could be shared between a child and an adult, built around the joy of learning time,” Hodinkee explains.
Parchie Lunar Time marks the second chapter in the collaboration between Parchie and Hodinkee, following a debut collection inspired by vintage dive watches. The new edition instead draws its aesthetic from space and the iconic watches associated with exploration beyond Earth.
