Pink Panther as a watch motif in Seiko 5 Sports
Seiko has introduced a new Seiko 5 Sports watch with the Pink Panther as its central theme, where colour, graphics and mechanical watchmaking take centre stage.
Seiko Pink Panther and Seiko 5 Sports come together in a new limited edition, with the Seiko Pink Panther watch playing a key role in the brand’s latest collaboration. The edition is based on the Seiko 5 Sports SKX series and is aimed at collectors and fans of character-driven watch design.
The model carries the reference SRPM07 and is released as a limited edition of 9,999 pieces. It is powered by an automatic Seiko movement and features day and date displays at three o’clock. The release is scheduled for April 2026.
The case is made from stainless steel and paired with a black rotating bezel. The dial is finished in pink and includes subtle references to the Pink Panther universe. This gives the watch a distinctive appearance that clearly sets it apart from standard models in the series.
Pink accents appear on the seconds hand, minute markings and dial graphics. The design draws inspiration from the short film The Pink Phink, where the Pink Panther paints the Little Man’s house pink. The character’s footprints are discreetly integrated into the dial.
The watch is delivered on a stainless steel bracelet as standard. A pink nylon strap with Pink Panther footprints is also included. The tip of the strap is printed with the phrase “WET PAINT” as a reference to the animation.
Seiko 5 Sports Pink Panther with special details
The case back is finished in transparent pink and shows the Pink Panther hiding against a pink wall. Around the edge, the words “Limited Edition” and the individual serial number are engraved. Water resistance is rated at 100 metres, equivalent to ten percent of the pressure at sea level.
The watch comes in a specially designed box inspired by the Little Man’s house. The packaging depicts the well-known conflict between the Pink Panther and the Little Man, reinforcing the collector aspect and setting the edition apart from standard Seiko boxes.
The price is listed at 450 US dollars, corresponding to approximately DKK 3,100. This places the watch in the more accessible end of the market for licensed special editions.
Seiko has previously worked with pop culture collaborations. The Pink Panther edition fits into a growing trend where iconic characters are combined with mechanical watches.
Limited edition and growing interest in character watches
Demand for character-based watches is increasing among both new and experienced collectors. The combination of recognisable design and mechanical movements has proven appealing, particularly for models with a strong visual identity.
The Seiko Pink Panther model sits at the intersection of nostalgia and modern watch design. The series is aimed at wearers who prefer a watch with personality rather than classic neutrality.
For collectors, the model offers both limited production and a well-documented background. This makes the watch relevant as both a daily wearer and a collectible.
The Seiko 5 Sports Pink Panther Limited Edition demonstrates how Seiko continues to experiment with design while maintaining the mechanical foundation the brand is known for.
