Swatch unveils the new Moonswatch Cold Moon in white bioceramic
The Moonswatch Mission to Earthphase Cold Moon introduces a winter-inspired design with white bioceramic, blue details and unique snowflake patterns, available only during snowfall in Switzerland.
Swatch expands its Moonswatch series with the Moonswatch Mission to Earthphase Cold Moon, which combines a white bioceramic case and blue accents in a design centred around the winter season. The model continues the Earthphase concept with several visual updates and a launch strategy that depends on snowfall in Switzerland. The layout keeps both the moonphase and earthphase indicators as defining features of the watch.
The case measures 42 millimetres and is made from bioceramic. The colour scheme is inverted compared with earlier releases, as the white case replaces the navy tone while the tachymeter markings remain blue. The dial has also been adjusted, since the faux-aventurine minute ring has been removed to create a cleaner appearance.
The moonphase display is central to the edition. Each moonphase disc features a laser-engraved snowflake, and every snowflake pattern is different. The result is a uniquely individual appearance for each Cold Moon model. Snoopy and Woodstock appear on the dial with helmets covered in snow, further reinforcing the theme.
Swatch equips the Cold Moon with a white rubber velcro strap printed with blue text to match the case. The hands retain their shimmering blue finish for clarity against the bright layout.
Moonswatch Cold Moon and the reversed colour design
Cold Moon stands out by using white as the dominant colour in the Mission to Earthphase collection for the first time. The dial presents a reduced colour palette, since only the moon and earth indicators keep the sparkling blue details. The changes give the watch a more seasonal expression.
Swatch emphasises that each snowflake on the moonphase disc is individually designed. The laser engraving ensures natural variation, and the brand has displayed several examples to highlight the differences. The watch uses Super-LumiNova for nighttime visibility.
Price, availability and the unusual launch conditions
The price is approximately 420 EUR. The Moonswatch Mission to Earthphase Cold Moon will be available at Moonswatch-stocked Swatch stores from 4 December 2025 to 20 March 2026. The model can only be purchased when snowfall is recorded in Switzerland.
Swatch explains the release approach as follows:
“After December 4, 2025, it will be available when it snows in Switzerland, and customers can visit Swatch.com to check the weather forecast. On days of snowfall, the model will be available for sale at all Swatch stores carrying the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection”, says Swatch.
The model is limited to the specified period and is expected to attract significant attention due to the weather-based release strategy.
