Timex honors The New Yorker with new Marlin
Timex marks The New Yorker’s 100th anniversary with a hand-wound Marlin in a numbered limited edition of 1,854 pieces worldwide.
Timex has unveiled the Marlin Hand-Wound The New Yorker Edition, a special release created to celebrate the magazine’s centennial. Inspired by the original Marlin from the 1960s, the new watch blends vintage aesthetics with playful New York details.
The watch comes in a 34 mm polished stainless-steel case with a domed acrylic crystal. Inside ticks a hand-wound mechanical movement, underscoring the classic character of the Marlin. Buyers receive the watch as a set with two straps — a black leather strap and a black fabric strap — offering flexibility between dress and casual wear.

A dial with New Yorker details
The white dial features artwork inspired by the magazine’s iconic Goings On section, created by illustrator Christoph Niemann, whose work has appeared in The New Yorker since 1998. Adding a playful touch, the small seconds hand is shaped like a bagel — a subtle nod to New York City’s cultural heritage.
On the caseback, the engraving highlights both the individual edition number and The New Yorker’s 100-year anniversary logo.
Price and availability
The Timex Marlin Hand-Wound The New Yorker Edition is released in a limited run of 1,854 pieces, priced at €249 (approx. 1,850 DKK). The number references the magazine’s founding year, 1925.
