Timex Launches New Automatic GMT
The new James Brand x Timex Automatic GMT combines upgraded construction quality and a reliable Miyota movement in a limited edition of only 1,000 pieces.
Timex expands its collaboration with The James Brand and presents a new version of its Automatic GMT model. The latest edition builds on previous generations but introduces new materials and a refreshed design to create a more robust and technically focused watch.
The watch is produced in a limited run of 1,000 individually numbered pieces and replaces the former titanium case with a 41 mm sandblasted stainless-steel case. Timex pairs the steel with a forged carbon dial that adds depth and texture. The look is completed by a matching crown with a carbon inlay.
GMT movement and user-focused functionality
The model is still powered by the Miyota 9075, an automatic GMT movement that allows the hour hand to be adjusted independently from the minute hand. This makes it possible to switch local time without stopping the movement or disturbing the other hands.
The GMT function is supported by markings on both the inner ring and the bezel, enabling tracking of multiple time zones. The bezel has a ceramic insert and a unidirectional ratcheting mechanism for precise operation.
The watch includes Super-LumiNova on hands and markers, a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and 200 metres of water resistance. This combination makes the model suitable for travel as well as outdoor environments.

Two straps included in the set
Timex delivers the watch with a complete set of two straps. The package includes a self-adjusting three-link stainless-steel bracelet and a two-piece fabric strap, both designed for easy and quick attachment. The two options provide distinctly different looks depending on whether the wearer prefers a functional or more classic expression.
Limited edition with focus on materials
The forged carbon dial is unusual in this price segment and adds a textured visual character that sets the model apart from other sports watches. The combination of stainless steel, ceramic bezel and carbon reflects Timex’s ambition to raise the material quality compared to earlier versions in the series.
The limited production of 1,000 pieces and the upgraded technical specifications are expected to make the model interesting for collectors who follow the development of affordable mechanical GMT watches.
