Artist Yinka Ilori collaborates on M.A.D.1S

M.A.D.1S

MB&F and Maximilian Büsser have teamed up with artist Yinka Ilori on the M.A.D.1S Grow Your Dreams, a colorful timepiece built around the theme of dreams.

The M.A.D.1S Grow Your Dreams is the latest collaboration between MB&F and British-Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori. Produced in just three pieces, the watch blends M.A.D.Editions’ unconventional approach to watchmaking with Ilori’s vibrant artistic universe.

Ilori is known for transforming everything from London’s grey urban spaces to bespoke McLarens with color, patterns, and storytelling rooted in hope and optimism. His philosophy is that dreams must be nurtured like trees, requiring patience and care until they grow. This metaphor is a central inspiration behind the M.A.D.1S Grow Your Dreams.

For Maximilian Büsser, the project was about creating a watch that captures both joy and reflection. “Yinka Ilori lives in a universe full of colors. His work makes you feel alive, like a rush of adrenaline that pushes you forward,” says Büsser.

A watch with an artistic dream language

The M.A.D.1S Grow Your Dreams is part of the experimental M.A.D.Editions series, where MB&F opens its universe to new ideas and collaborations. The watch combines Ilori’s design language with the M.A.D.1S’ signature rotating discs and futuristic aesthetic.

Although only three examples exist, the model carries symbolic weight. It demonstrates how contemporary art can merge with horology, sparking conversations across design, culture, and collecting communities.

Raffle system for M.A.D.1S

MB&F has chosen to allocate M.A.D.Editions through a raffle system rather than traditional waiting lists. The system ensures that everyone has an equal chance to purchase a watch without long queues or competing with bots.

With the M.A.D.1S Grow Your Dreams, Büsser once again proves that watchmaking can go beyond precision and mechanics. It can also be a story of colors, culture, and dreams—worn directly on the wrist.
