Longines updates PrimaLuna with new design

PrimaLuna

Longines relaunches the PrimaLuna collection with larger cases, new materials, and classic details. The series will debut in September 2025 with 23 variations.

Longines has introduced a new generation of PrimaLuna, a collection that since 2009 has been among the brand’s best-selling lines. The redesigned models feature more rounded shapes and broader lugs while preserving the classic aesthetic that has made the collection so popular.

The first model will launch in September 2025 in a 34 mm stainless-steel case with an automatic movement. Later in the year, a 30 mm quartz version will follow, making the collection more accessible to those who prefer a maintenance-free option.

Larger proportions and new materials

The case measures 11.6 mm in height and comes in polished stainless steel, with options in bi-metal 18k rose or yellow gold. Certain references also feature sapphire or diamond-set bezels. The redesigned five-link bracelet offers a more contemporary look and is secured with a folding clasp and safety release.

Dial options range from classic sunray silver with blue Roman numerals to mother-of-pearl in blue, green, or white with diamond hour markers. The collection includes both time-and-date models as well as versions with a moonphase subdial at 6 o’clock.

New movement with silicon balance spring

The automatic models are powered by the Longines calibre L899.5, based on the ETA A31.L91. The movement offers a 72-hour power reserve, a silicon balance spring, and improved resistance to magnetism. Through the sapphire exhibition caseback, the decorated movement and rotor with the Longines logo can be admired.

With the introduction of the 30 mm quartz models in December 2025, the collection expands its appeal to buyers prioritizing affordability and reliability over mechanical complexity.

PrimaLuna thus retains its feminine identity while gaining a more contemporary design language and enhanced technical specifications – a collection that appeals to both collectors and those seeking an elegant everyday watch.
